Kitrinos Healthcare was set up by London-based GP Dr Siyana Shaffi, following a medical volunteering trip to the island of Lesvos, Greece.
We are a charity providing medical and holistic healthcare to refugees and vulnerable migrants across Greece. Our team comprises doctors, nurses, paramedics, and other allied medical professionals, as well as interpreters and non-medical staff. To date, we have welcomed over 800 medical and non-medical volunteers and have worked in 15 different locations. We currently operate in an on-site clinic in Camp Moria, which is visited by up to 100 patients per day.
As well as providing direct medical aid, we organise referrals to the local hospitals and psychological support services for emergency treatment and specialist cases. We also work in collaboration with Peaceful Heart Network to offer psychosocial support in the form of Stress and Trauma Regulation Training to our refugee clients, as well as to our volunteers and other NGOs on the ground.
We are always on the lookout for volunteers, so if you'd like to get involved, please register your interest at www.kitrinoshealthcare.org/volunteer.
