Burdett Estate Masjid was originally founded in 1982 making it one of the oldest and established Masjids in East London. The Masjid started off from humble beginnings at flower pot (within Burdett Estate) and was used mainly for Taraweeh, Eid salaah and as a place to teach children Qur’an. As the Muslim community grew the need of the Masjid became more vital to help shape the local community. In 1984 the Masjid was moved to Limborough house to serve the ever growing Muslim community. Here five times a day salaah was established and expansion of masjid activities for all.
In 1997 the Masjid moved to the old match box and this became the well known and the much loved home for our Masjid for a long period of time. The ground breaking move then happened in April 2017 where the masjid moved a few meters down Masjid Lane to our current purpose built Masjid Alhamdulillah!
We now have the opportunity to purchase this purpose build building for only one million pounds and help secure the future of our community for generations to come Insha’Allah. For this we need your support! We encourage everyone to donate generously!
